Time to grow up?

Let me be clear.

Right now I want to go to the amazing restaurant down the street.

I want to get the squid ink pasta, hang out and let the snow fall while I watch by candle light.

Alison is right when she points out that we are going out tomorrow night and that pasta is not what I "really" want to eat.

She is also right when she says that we have a fridge full of stuff we love to eat.

Internally I am a two year old throwing a tantrum and holding my breath until I get my own way.

Externally I just calmly told her that inwardly I'm a two year old.

There is so much value in admitting when we feel like acting like a spoiled brat.

There is zero value in actually behaving that way.

At 43 years old I am finally starting to understand.
