The road to “that life” is paved with gratitude

Ever have days or weeks where it seems like there are no blessings to count?

Perhaps you know there are some there, but for whatever reason, you try not to see them.

I can totally relate.  The desire for change can cloud the parts of our lives that are actually going really well.  And there are indeed parts of your life that are going well.

Take this moment for example.  You are chilling out, reading, enjoying internet access and perhaps slurping a delicious beverage.  I love delicious beverages.

Right now is pretty nice.

Not to be a Debbie Downer consider these facts;

You can read.  Approximately 32 million adults in this country can’t.

You have electricity.  Over 1.2 billion people - 20% of the world's population - are still without access to electricity worldwide, almost all of whom live in developing countries. This includes about 550 million in Africa, and over 400 million in India.

More than likely if you have those items you have access to a refreshing beverage.

Delicious!

What do you like?  A quad shot, skinny half caf, low foam, extra hot caramel mocha?

Of course you do!  Who wouldn’t!

The deep desires of your heart are so important.

And I am convinced that the path to acquiring them and achieving all you hope to achieve, begins with deciding right now not to dwell on what you don’t have or have not yet accomplished.

It is so much harder to arrive at “that life” while demonizing our current lives.

Your desires are legit and your goals are reachable.

And if you are here, right now, your blessings are abundant and waiting to be counted.

How about a list of 10?

Ready?  Set?  Go!
